West Palm Beach homeowner injured after confrontation

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - One man was injured after at least one gunshot was fired in a West Palm Beach home invasion.

According to police, it happened in the Cascades Apartment Complex at 1400 Village Boulevard at 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Two men burst into an apartment demanding money from an unidentified man and woman inside.

At one point, the two men fired at least one gunshot.

A still unidentified man inside the apartment was injured, but it's not clear if he was shot. Police say he was not hospitalized.

Manteca Pierrelouis lives next door. The bullet from the shot fired by the home invaders traveled through his bedroom wall.

He feels lucky that he wasn't home at the time. "Imagine that you're at work, you left the street coming home, and you know you couldn't be safe at home. And then next thing you know, you're going to get killed at home. So no matter where you go, you're not safe. Next thing you know I could come home and find my fiancee dead," said Pierrelouis.

West Palm Beach Police have given this description of the two attackers: Both were black men. One attacker is 5' 0" and weighs roughly 190 pounds. Police say he was wearing a black shirt and black Dickies pants.

The other attacker is 5' 7" about 150 pounds with four upper gold teeth. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information should contact the West Palm Beach Police Department or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458 TIPS.
