Second water test comes back clean

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - Seacoast Utility Authority reported Sunday morning that after testing the water for a second day no evidence of bacterial contamination was found, said Rim Bishop, the utility's chief executive officer.

The utility, which serves customers in Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Park, North Palm Beach and parts of Juno Beach, notified their more than 35,000 residential and business customers Thursday afternoon that a water line had been cut during construction at its plant on Hood Road in Palm Beach Gardens and that they were under a boil-water advisory.

The line was repaired and the boil-water advisory lifted Saturday morning after the first set of bacteriological tests showed the water was safe to drink.

The utility collected 80 samples of water throughout the system and performed another set of bacteriological tests on Saturday, Bishop said.

He said no evidence of bacterial contamination was found and that no more testing was necessary.
