WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - Olympic hopefuls are in Wellington this week jumping for a spot on the U.S. Equestrian Show Olympic Jumping Team.
In this sport, the rider and the horse work as one, so practice is key.
For some of the athletes, this is the first time they are working with a particular horse.
Former Olympian Lauren Hough says skill is important, but it isn't the only thing that can win it for the the rider. "You need a little bit of luck in any sport. But as far as preparation, I don't think I could have done anything differently, and let the games begin as they say!"
The chosen team will then compete for the U.S. in London this summer.
