Arrest made in Okeechobee arson case

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, FL (WFLX)- Deputies with the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man in connection with a series of 'suspicious' fires in Okeechobee County that date back to 2008.

Dallas Wayne Parker, 18, was arrested Tuesday and charged with arson of a dwelling in the fist degree, a felony.

According to investigators, Okeechobee County has been plagued by a series of fire since 2008, which started in the Treasure Island Subdivision. Deputies said Parker lived near all of the homes that were set on fire and he was listed as a suspect for each case.

In the months of February and March of 2012, the Okeechobee County Fire Department, the Florida state fire marshal and the sheriff's office began investigating a series of fires classified as arson in the subdivision of Pine Ridge Park, which is located in the northeast section of Okeechobee County
