Woman struck at PBSO headquarters

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A woman was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office headquarters, according to PBSO spokesperson Teri Barbera.

The woman is a civilian employee of the sheriff's office and was hit by an SUV slowing backing out in the parking lot around 6:15 a.m., according to Barbera.

The car was driven by another woman, who is also a civilian employee of the sheriff's office, Barbera said.

The victim is in her late 30s or 40s and was airlifted to Delray Medical Center by Trauma Hawk.

Barbera said the woman had several items in her hands which caused her to hit her head on the ground when she was struck.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue initially reported the victim was a man.
