Stouffer's recalls frozen lasagna

By: Associated Press

SOLON, Ohio - Nestle Prepared Foods Co. is voluntarily recalling some of its Stouffer's brand lasagna because of an allergy risk.

The company said Tuesday that it is recalling its Stouffer's Satisfying Servings Lasagna Italiano with the establishment number "EST. 7991." The cartons and cases also bear the package code "1349595513R" or "1349595513S."

They were distributed in a number of states.

The company launched the recall after two customers reported finding stuffed peppers in lasagna product packaging. The recipe for the peppers includes Worcestershire sauce, which has anchovies in it. People with an allergy to fish could get sick if they eat it.

Nestle said it made the product during December 2011 and believes most of the items have already been sold. Consumers should check their freezers for the items and contact Nestle's consumer services at 1-800-392-4057 or for further instructions. Nestle will provide a replacement coupon and may make arrangements to retrieve the product for further examination.

Nestle Prepared Foods, based in Solon, Ohio, is a division of Nestle USA.
