Community remembers Stuart woman killed by brother-in-law

STUART, FL (WFLX) - It was standing room only at the Grace Place Community Church as family and friends of the Treasure Coast woman who was shot in January by her brother-in-law came together to celebrate her life.

Pamela Richardson was trying to help her sister move out of her estranged husband's house when he walked outside and fired several shots. One of the bullets hit Pamela Richardson, who later died of her injury.

Inside the church at Sunday's memorial service, family members placed white roses in a vase as a symbol of remembrance in tribute to Pamela Richardson. "Pam taught me about life and how to live it. She didn't have a resting bone in her body. She was always on the go, she was always moving," said John Richardson, husband of Pamela Richardson.

John Richardson recounted his late wife's adventurous life. Pamela Richardson loved to mountain bike, ski and even horseback ride. Pamela Richardson also had a humorous side. "She comforted me in her own gentle way saying, 'Stop your crying, you'll be fine,'" said John Richardson.

John Richardson and his wife, Pamela, made plans to move to Montana to retire. "I'm still going out there to live out there in our tiny little home in Big Sky Montana, and Pam is going with me," said John Richardson.

So many lives touched by a woman that those who knew her said, it is hard not to smile when thinking of her.

John Richardson ended the service by talking about his wife's dash in life, the line between the date of her birth and death. He said it is a colorful dash, one that will stretch with him all the way home to Montana.
