Four arrested in Vero prostitution sting

VERO BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Four men looking for love on Wednesday instead found themselves in the Indian River County Jail after they were busted in an undercover prostitution sting in Vero Beach.

A female Indian River Sheriff's Office deputy, posing as a street prostitute and equipped with an electronic listening device, was approached by the men in three separate incidents along the 3300 block of U.S. 1.

Two of the men, a driver and his passenger, allegedly wanted to have sex with the woman together in a motel room.

According to the arrest reports, after the men made clear they were looking to pay for sexual acts, additional officers moved in and arrested them.

According to the report, the names of those charged with soliciting prostitution are as follows:

  • Marcos Alvarez-Merida, of Florida Ridge
  • Casmir Martinez-Marcelino, of Dallas, Texas
  • David Smith, of Gifford
  • Pierre Armando, of Gifford

Each faces a $500 fine if convicted.
