Eating bacteria victim speaks

(WFLX)-  A Georgia college student battling a flesh-eating bacteria was able to speak for the first time over the weekend.

Aimee Copeland said her first words in weeks on Sunday.

Her dad posted the news online, calling the occasion "Aimee Day."

Andy Copeland says his daughter laughs and jokes and is aware of her current physical condition.

The 24-year-old got the bacteria after falling off a homemade zip line and cutting herself May first.

She remains in the hospital.

Aimee Copeland lost her hands, a leg and a foot to the infection.
