WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - For the first time, we are seeing the progress a local teen has made after her catastrophic brain injury from falling off a moving car while "car surfing".

Sixteen-year-old Hannah Huntoon can walk and talk again after undergoing weeks of therapy at St. Mary's Medical Center. Doctors say, the teen's progress is nothing short of a miracle.

Hannah says, she doesn't remember what happened. "The girl who I did it with, she came, and she told me, and we cried. It was upsetting 'cause I was disappointed in myself and her for doing it," said Hannah. "It's a lot to handle and deal with, but it's nice to know that I'm alive."

Hannah wears a helmet full-time. She will have surgery in a few months to replace parts of her skull that were removed to allow swelling to go down in her brain.

Hannah is expected to go home Friday.
