JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - Nearly 40,000 blind or visional impaired people live in Palm Beach County. But many find they can do just about everything sighted people can thanks to the training provided by Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches.

"From basic skills, such as identifying money and dialing the phone, I mean imagine if you didn't have your vision, how would you identify your dollar bills, use the phone or the microwave? But we also teach advance skills such as computer and using the iPhone," said Mary Allen with the Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches.

This Saturday, StingRay Fishing Outfitters will be holding a ladies only fishing tournament where all proceeds benefit the Lighthouse for the Blind. Our own Rachel Leigh will try reeling in a big fish for the charity.

You have until 6 p.m. Friday to sign up for the Lighthouse Ladies KDW Tournament.
