Athlete competing in Olympics at 34-weeks pregnant

LONDON (WFLX) - A 29-year-old mother-to-be will be one of the most conspicuous athletes competing in the London Olympics this summer.

That's because the shooter from Malaysia will be eight months pregnant when she represents Malaysia in the women's ten-meter air rifle event. She's expected to give birth to her first child on September 2 -- less than a month after the closing ceremony. "Actually, I don't have any pressure. I don't have any stress at this moment, but I seek for it," said Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi. "I seek for the stress, I seek for the pressure, because I want to practice on handling the situation before this Olympic games."

She also says she will need to convince her baby to stay calm for the hour and 15 minutes of competition.

Her biggest concern, however, will be the long, 13-hour flight between Malaysia and London while she is 34 weeks pregnant.
