Help make Palm Beach County beautiful

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - Trash is piling up in some of Palm Beach County's natural parks. Signs say no dumping at more than a dozen parks, but tires, TVs and more are being found.

Jobs with the cleaning crew have been lost due to a shrinking county budget. Only 35 people clean about thirty 1,000 acres of parks in Palm Beach County.

Now, park leaders say they need your help. "Because you can count on these extra hands to come out and do the work with the staff, it makes our job that much easier, so we can do more with less," said Ann Matthrews, PBC Enviromental Resources Manager.

You can help park officials pick up during five different clean up sessions:

8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Thursday, June 28, 2012
Trash Removal, Exotic Plant Removal at High Ridge Scrub Natural Area
8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
