Bar reopens after deputy-involved shooting

SUBURBAN BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) -- The bar where a Lake Worth man was shot and killed on Thursday morning by a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy has reopened following the deadly shooting.

Investigators said PBSO deputies were called out to 1st and 10 Sports Bar & Grill Thursday morning around 5:00 a.m. to reports of a fight.

When deputies arrived, investigators said they were confronted by Victor Arango, 26, who allegedly fought with a deputy and eventually pulled out a gun.

Deputy Michael Suszczynski, a 7-year veteran to PBSO, shot and killed Arango after Arango allegedly pulled out a pistol.

"I'll keep coming here. It's safe, it's safe to me," said Jim Scott, a bar customer.

Customers who frequent the bar said the incident is unfairly ruining the reputation of their "neighborhood bar."

"It could happen anywhere, absolutely. I mean it doesn't necessarily have to be in this bar it could have been down the street in some of the other bars," said Warner Mueller, a bar customer.

PBSO said it has been called out to 1st and 10 Bar & Grill 46 times since January

The county code enforcement division is now investigating the bar.

When reached for comment, the owner of the bar did not want to comment.
