Testimony continues in teen burning case

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (WFLX) - It was day two of testimony in the trial of a Broward County teen accused of planning an attack on Michael Brewer.

Prosecutors say, in 2009, Matthew Bent persuaded two other teens to pour rubbing alcohol on Brewer and set him on fire.

Two witnesses took to the stand Wednesday. One boy saying he overheard talk of the the fiery attack. "After that Zeke offered everybody $5 to hit Michael Brewer," said Joelle Mendez.

Attorney asked, "What was he carrying?"

Mendez responded, "A bottle of alcohol."

Bent is charged with attempted second degree murder.

Brewer survived the attack after spending five months in the hospital.
