MIAMI (AP) -- Tolls along Florida's Turnpike will now be 25 cents more in South Florida.
Drivers will pay more for using the Turnpike or the Sawgrass Expressway starting at 6 a.m. Sunday.
Cash drivers will pay $1.25 instead of $1, and Sunpass users will see tolls increase from 75 cents to $1. Along Alligator Alley, the toll will increase from $2.50 to $3 in cash and from $2 to $2.75 for drivers with a SunPass.
The increase stems from a law that allows the Florida Department of Transportation to link tolls it collects to the consumer price index.
Officials say tolls on Interstate 95 or the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority highways are not affected.
