Mother burned by ex-boyfriend goes back to work

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX)  At first glance you may never guess Naomi Breton was brutally burned.

"The area here is pretty sore," says Breton.
A closer look reveals her scars.
"It's painful, I don't wish it on my worst enemy, " she says.
Naomi returned to work as a receptionist for a West Palm Beach transport company. She has come a long way in the four short weeks since she was doused with gas and lit on fire. She says she doesn't hate the man accused of trying to kill her. In fact, she prays for him.
"When we go to bed at night we mention him in our prayers. That is so my kids don't hold anger toward him, so they know you have to forgive."
Roosevelt Mondesir, her ex-boyfriend, is in jail on an attempted murder charge. The couple has a four year old son together. Mondesir was a father figure to Naomi's older sons. She and her children are now in counseling to handle the trauma.
"He's asking did daddy burn you, did daddy do that to you? When I say 'ouch' he says, did daddy do that?"
Naomi has only been back to the 7-11 on Hypoluxo in suburban Boynton Beach once since the attack. At the time she was looking for her purse, which she's never found. She avoids this area if she can.
What she can't avoid is filling up her gas tank. But she has to face her fears.
"It's part of my healing too. I have to get over it and move on."
She's showing courage at a time when anger could easily take hold.
