PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) – A Port St. Lucie police officer was arrested Tuesday propelling an administrative investigation ordered by the acting police chief.
Acting Chief John Bolduc ordered an Administrative Investigation after officer Steve Camara was arrested on charges of contempt of court, according to police spokesperson Thomas Nichols.
According to Nichols, Camara was off-duty in court on a personal matter when a judge ordered him to be taken into custody and held in the St. Lucie County Jail overnight.
Camara was released from the St. Lucie County Jail Wednesday morning and sentenced with credit for time served.
Camara has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation.
