LEESBURGH, FL (WFLX) - There are still more questions than answers after Leesburg police, allegedly, shot and killed the wrong man while searching for a murder suspect.
It happened over the weekend. Deputies knocked on Andrew Scott's door -- looking for the suspect -- without identifying themselves.
Scott answered the door while pointing a gun at them, and then The deputies shot and killed him.
It wasn't until more than an hour and a half later, Lake County deputies realized Scott wasn't the person they were looking for. The man they were looking for was actually next door.
