Non-profit children's organization ransacked

FORT PIERCE, FL (WFLX) - Investigators in St. Lucie County are searching for the thieves who stole $10,000 worth of equipment from a non-profit children's organization.

Fort Pierce police are searching for the thieves who broke into Frontline for Kid's and stole items, such as laptops, television and food.

Police say the thieves even took a watermelon out of the refrigerator and smashed it on the walls.

"They broke through the window at the back, took out two of the windows, and through that way, they had access to the main entrance," said Jerome Gayman, Frontline for Kids founder. "Then, they used tools to get in to my office and the office of my administrative assistant."

Group Founder Jerome Gayman says it's a tragedy when someone would steal from a group that does so much to help the community.

If you have any information about this theft, you're urged to call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers.
