Movie theatre offering refunds for late night showing of Batman

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Several movie theaters in Palm Beach County and on the Treasure Coast will be showing "The Dark Knight Rises".

Many people have waiting in anticipation to see the latest Batman movie; however, the Colorado tragedy has left the nation in a state of shock.

The tragedy raises the question whether moviegoers will avoid seeing a late night movie and, instead, go earlier in the day.

We spoke with movie lovers about their thoughts. "It grieves me that that happened, like I'm sure it does every American. But, you know, it's really an isolated incident," said Robert Rizzo of Ft. Pierce. "I still think that going to the movies is a safe option for an afternoon's entertainment, so I don't have any reservations about going."

Some of the local theaters, such as Regal, Cobb and Muvico will have midnight showings of the movie; one showing of the movie is as late as 1 a.m.

Muvico has said they will refund money to ticket holders who bought seats to the late night shows in advance. You must request the refund, however, before the movie begins.
