GREENACRES, FL (WFLX) - A Greenacres Little League concession stand was broken into this weekend, and it's now putting the season in jeopardy.
Managers of the league say someone drilled a hole into the lock of the concession room getting away with thousands of dollars of items.
Among what was taken food, drinks and, the most important, the equipment.
The leagues says it had just purchased brand new gear. Without it, they can't start the season. "They're not taking away from me; they're not taking away from any other coaches or the team moms or any of the board members. They're taking away from the kids. You know all this stuff is for them," Cristina Orta with the Greenacres Little League.
The Greenacres Little League says the building is insured but not anything inside.
If they don't obtain new gear, they might have to delay or cancel the season that's expected to start next month.
