Sir McCartney received $1.57 to perform at Olympics

(WFLX) - The opening night ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games may have cost millions to put on; however, Sir Paul McCartney only received a pound.

The former Beatle accepted $1.57 in U.S. currency to perform.

Organizers say McCartney, Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rasal and other stars donated their time. The nominal fee was offered just to make the official contracts binding.
