Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day vs. Same Sex Kiss Day

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - The controversy surrounding popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A continues.

Supporters of the Christian-based chain are expected to show their support Wednesday for the company who recently announced their views on gay marriage.

Members of the Church of all Nations, led by Pastor Mark Boykin, are meeting at the Town Center Mall's entrance before going inside to eat lunch at the fast food restaurant.

It's part of a nationwide movement taking place -- dubbed "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day".

In a press release, issued by the Church of all Nations, Pastor Boykin says he expects thousands of people from Palm Beach County to join together and show their support for the restaurant.

This is all in response to a comment made by Chick-fil-A's President Dan Cathy during an interview with the Baptist Press. During that interview, Cathy said Chick-fil-A is "Very much supportive of the family... The Biblical definition of the family unit."

The Church of all Nations claims it stands behind Cathy's comment adding that it stands for strenghthening marriage and family. This has obviously sparked some rage from the gay and lesbian community.

As a rebuttal to Wednesday's nationwide event to show support for Chick-fil-A, gay rights groups are promoting "Same Sex Kiss Day" which will take place this Friday.
