PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - A Palm Beach Gardens mother is speaking out after, she says, the person supposed to be caring for her child fell asleep on the job.
Trish Armand took cell-phone video of her son's caregiver when she got out of the shower and heard him screaming. "[She was] laying down, sound asleep, not event sitting up, and taking a little siesta. She was stretched out on the couch with her cell phone in her hand," said Armand. "They don't take the time to screen these people to see exactly what their qualifications are."
Mega Nursing Services issued an apology to the family. The employee has since been fired.
Any future disciplinary action is up to the State Department of Health.
