WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A K-9 deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is set to be back on the job Monday -- two months after he was shot in the line of duty.
Kenzo is a 9-year-old German Shepard who's now considered a hero by deputies at the sheriff's office.
He received quite the welcome back Sunday at the K-9 training facility. Kenzo was shot twice on June 4 during a shootout at the Casa Del Monte Mobile Home Park near Greenacres.
His trainer credits Kenzo with saving his life.
Sheriff Bradshaw says Kenzo shielded other deputies from gunfire.
Kenzo has been going through rehabilitation for the past two months.
