BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - For more than a year, red-light safety cameras at intersections throughout the Boynton Beach area have been catching drivers who decide to run red lights.
Now, police say, those cameras have also been preventing traffic crashes.
A recent study by the Boynton Beach Police Department's Traffic Unit shows an overall 55-percent reduction in traffic crashes at intersections with red-light safety cameras.
Police say the cameras are helping make streets safer and changing driver behaviour.
