Honey dripping from bee-infested house

SOUTH MIAMI, FL (WFLX) - There's a very 'sticky' situation inside one South Miami home.

Tens of thousands of bees have taken up residence inside the walls of this house. So many bees in fact, that honey started dripping from the ceiling when a contractor cut through it.

On Monday, the landlord and renter tried to take care of the problem themselves, but that didn't work out to well.

Now, the professionals have taken over. "Six months ago, I could hear humming in the walls, and then, in the last two months, it was like a little motor running in the walls," said renter Maria Sentmanat. "I would put my ear up against the wall, and I could hear them."

A bee expert estimated at least 60,000 bees had been living in the walls of the home.
