I stepped onto the scale one night after the gym, and the scale weighed 10 pounds heavier than it did just days ago! What the... I can't say the word, but it's not hard to figure out!
I have been working out with a friend who participates in body fitness shows. She told I would gain some LBs from the training -- I didn't think it would be 10.
I stepped off the scale and realized it was set to start at 10 pounds instead of 0. Thank the Lord!
As an avid cyclists (teaching four to five indoor cycle classes a week) and runner, I'm not focused on dropping a pound or two. I'm focused on toning up my arms.
If you're like me, when you put on a strapless dress, that extra skin insists on hanging over the top of the dress. I don't care how thin you are, if you're not weight training, it's there! I tried on a few wedding gowns, and sure enough skin just appears from nowhere!
I'm also changing my diet to consume more protein. It's rough because I'd rather go for a handful of pretzels than a piece of chicken. But yesterday, when I trained with her and didn't eat protein before, and I couldn't lift what I normally can.
So if you're a bride-to-be, might I suggest adding protein into your diet and weight training into your workout. And if you're a cardio fanatic like me, keep this in mind: "Metabolism increases after cardiovascular exercise only lasts 30 to 60 minutes, whereas post weight training metabolism increases up to 48 hours," LiveStrong.com.
You won't be able to see your thighs or stomach in your wedding photos, but you will be able to see your arms!
