Boca park worker admits filming mom, daughter changing

Douglas Hughes, 27 Douglas Hughes, 27

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - A Boca Raton Parks and Recreation groundskeeper was arrested after, police say, he used his iPhone to video record a woman and her daughter changing in a park restroom.

Douglas Hughes, 27, has been charged with two counts of video voyeurism -- one of them against a minor.

The victims, a mother and her 10- year-old daughter who were in the park over the weekend, told officers they noticed a hand holding an iPhone in the window a Boca Raton park restroom while they were changing.

After noticing the phone, the mother ran out of the bathroom and after the person she believed was spying on her and her daughter.

She wrote down the license plate number of the car the man drove away in, the report said.

On Tuesday, detectives interviewed Hughes, 27, and said he confessed to committing the crime, the report states.

Hughes told police he videotaped the woman and her daughter in the bathroom and has been videotaping women and children since March or April of this year, according to the report.

Detectives say he's done it about 25 to 30 times this year.

Hughes is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $20,000 bond and ordered not to use the Internet or have contact with any video equipment.

He was also ordered not to go within 500 feet of children, including parks.
