TAMPA, FL (WFLX) - The storm is gone, delegates have arrived, and the Republican National Convention got underway in Tampa Monday afternoon.
Due to the threat of severe weather delayed Monday's events, we won't really see any action until Tuesday.
Speeches aren't expected to get underway until Tuesday. Florida Governor Rick Scott and Donald Trump are among those dropped from the schedule.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's planning to stay home and deal with Tropical Storm Isaac now headed his way.
"Our thoughts are with the people that are in the storms path and hope that they're spared any major destruction," said Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
Strategists for the Romney campaign say while they are still planning on holding the convention over a three-day period, they are monitoring the latest developments of Tropical Storm Isaac.
