PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Palm Beach County Democratic Party Chairman Mark Siegel is taking a leave of absence after a controversial comment during the Democratic National Convention.
Earlier this week, he said, "The Christians just want us to be there, so we can be slaughtered and converted and bring on the second coming of Jesus Christ."
Siegel has since apologized.
Calls are also coming out by members of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party to remove him from his leadership position later this month.
