DEERFIELD, FL (Dori Slosberg Highway Safety Foundation) - The number one cause of death for those under the age of 18 is motor vehicle fatalities, and a new reason for fatalities and serious injuries are dangerous driving activities.

In light of this startling statistic, Broward County Public Schools, in a partnership with the Dori Slosberg Highway Safety Foundation and the Geico Insurance Company, will provide a live interactive Dangerous Driving Video-Conference featuring car surfing survivor Hannah Huntoon.

Date: September 12, 2012
Time: 9:45 AM
Location: Deerfield Beach High School Interactive
Locations: Broward County, Key West, Palm Beach, Martin County
View Only: High Schools Across Florida

The following are invited speakers who will make appearances in the video-conference:

  • Hannah Huntoon, Palm Beach Gardens Student and Car Surfing Survivor, who will explain what happened in the crash and have a power-point explaining her recovery with hospital photos
  • Representative Irv Slosberg & Emily Slosberg, Esq.
  • Trauma Expert David Summers, St. Mary's Medical Center
  • Professional Indy Race Car Driver Andy Pilgrim

This will be followed by live questions from participating schools.

Following this Broward County video-conference, the Dori Slosberg Highway Safety Foundation has plans to continue these video-conferences to high schools and middle schools that have Distance Learning across the state of Florida.

For the high schools that do not have the capability to participate in a live Web cast, they will receive a session that can be played by DVD.
