STUART, FL (WFLX) - A Stuart philanthropist is facing a possible state investigation involving his three charities.
Dennis McKenna helped provide the steel from the World Trade Center to create a 9-11 memorial at Port St. Lucie's Civic Center.
McKenna is now being asked to provide financial information for his charity.
According to reports, his 9/11 memorial charities are registered with the state as corporations, but they are not registered to collect donations.
The memorial will be unveiled during a ceremony Tuesday.
