Horse euthanized after contracting West Nile

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Health officials say they have confirmed a case of West Nile virus in a horse in Palm Beach County.

The State Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services made the finding in a horse that was euthanized last week.

This is the second horse reported with the West Nile infection this year in Florida.

Horse owners are encouraged to have their animals vaccinations and boosters up to date.
