Who does 'The Most Interesting Man in the World' support?

Burlington, VT (WFLX)  His catchphrase is: "Stay thirsty, my friends."  Turns out "the most interesting man in the world" has a thirst for politics.

Actor Jonathan Goldsmith hosted a fundraiser in Vermont for President Obama's re-election campaign.

Goldsmith portrays the mysterious and accomplished spokesman for Dos Equis beer.

Tuesday night, he told supporters to get behind the president.  "He is really the hope that he talks about and he needs us and we have to have him," said Goldsmith.

Some non-Obama supporters are having a tough time swallowing this one.   They have taken to the Dos Equis Facebook page to vent.

Dos Equis is imported by Heineken U-S-A.

The company told Ad Age in a statement that Goldsmith's opinions and views are strictly his own and do not represent the company.
