Armless man finishes Lake Worth triathlon

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A South Florida man is proving you can't let disabilities come in the way of achieving your goals.

Twenty years ago, Hector Picard lost both his arms in a work accident. But that didn't stop him from finishing the Tropical Triathlon in Lake Worth on Sunday.

In fact, Picard's competed in more than 60 athletic events. He has a custom made bike to help him pedal through the miles, but there is one part of these races that is especially difficult. "You use your arms to propel yourself at running, and I'm at a disadvantage there. But I'm getting better."

Hector says his biggest fans are his kids who, themselves say, have learned to never give up despite what life throws at them.
