Thirteen injured in Palm Tran bus crash

NEAR WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - A Palm Tran bus and pickup collided on Southern Boulevard near D Road in Palm Beach County Monday morning.

At about 6:45a.m. Monday, a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesperson says the truck rear-ended the bus.

Thirteen people were transported to three area hospitals. A Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesperson says none of the injuries were serious, and none required trauma alert.

The driver of the pickup and 12 people on the bus were treated on the scene, and then taken away in emergency vehicles.

A sign on the bus said it was '40 eastbound to WPB intermodal'.  It is unclear at this time how many passengers were riding on the bus, but, PBCFR says, it appeared to be full.

Traffic was tied up on Southern Boulevard going both ways, bringing eastbound lanes to a standstill for an hour, while first responders worked at the scene.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
