How to donate to Sandy victims

STUART, FL (WFLX) - Red Cross volunteers from the Treasure Coast are on their way to the Northeast.

Tuesday morning they packed up their disaster relief vehicle and headed north.

For Joe Pistorio, volunteering for the Red Cross is personal. He remembers how the organization helped his family get information about him when he was serving in Vietnam. "So not only did I want to pay back the Red Cross, this is therapy."

These volunteers will spend at least two weeks up north.

Now, with shelters set up in 16 states, the Red Cross is asking for your help. You can text the word "Red Cross" to 90999 to make a $10 pledge.
