The victim went to St. Mary's Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries from the alleged attack. That's where police interviewed the man Monday morning. They haven't indicated whether the victim knew Officer Byrd or not. The victim told police the attack happened at Byrd's house.
Investigators say Byrd was off duty at the time of the alleged assault.
