TALLAHASSEE, FL (WFLX) - Ten supervisors of elections from around the state of Florida will testify Monday during a special meeting held by the state Senate Committee of Ethics and Elections.

Three of them are from our area. Susan Bucher of Palm Beach County, Gertrude Walker of St. Lucie County and Vicki Davis from Martin County are expected to be in attendance.

The meeting is being held outside of the regularly planned meeting schedule to allow elections supervisors the chance to discuss specific issues faced in their counties during the 2012 General Election.

In Palm Beach County, elections staff continue to count ballots for days after the election took place on November 6.

Supervisor of Elections, Susan Bucher, says the problem was due to a malfunctioning tabulation machine that damaged ballots coming out of it.

In St. Lucie County, there were protests over the delay in results of a congressional and mayoral race.

Gertrude Walker, the Supervisor of Elections in St. Lucie County, says old equipment at her office caused a lot of the problems seen there. A state report found issues with memory card failure, ballot scanning issues and incomplete election results.

In Martin County, Supervisor of Elections Vicki Davis says she wants to make the voting process "faster and more efficient" for voters.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. Monday. Fox 29's Alex Sanz will be in attendance to bring the latest on the special meeting.
