Classes canceled at UCF after suicide, explosives found

ORLANO, FL (WFLX) - Classes at the University of Central Florida were canceled Monday morning after police found a dead body in dorm room along with guns and explosives.

Update, MON 4 PM: Authorities believe the victim, a student, died after shooting himself inside a dorm room at Tower One.

Police came to the area after getting a 9-1-1 call about a man on campus with a gun. Once they arrived, they found the body along with an assault rifle, a hand gun and home made bombs. "We went out, and, as soon as we got out, we noticed something was wrong because we saw a policeman with a big rifle & everything," said a student. "So we were like ok this is something. Something's going on here."

"The cops had guns and were telling everyone to run, and we got told to go to the Union & stay as far away as possible," added another student.

Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and a Hazmat crew, are still investigating.

Authorities have not released the name of the student yet.
