Taxi driver declared mentally incompetent to stand trial

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Our crews have confirmed a taxi driver, accused of going on a shooting spree in December, has been declared mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Thirty-one-year-old Rupert Harty was arrested last month after telling police, "He heard a voice telling him to go kill someone" (Read Previous Story).

Harty has been charged with the death of a nanny, Amaria Grant, who was gunned down in December while riding her bike in West Palm Beach. Harty also reportedly shot three other people from his taxi cab; one of whom is now paralyzed.

A hearing has been scheduled for September 19.
