PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - Police say two teens were no match for a Port St. Lucie man who witnessed them burglarizing his car early Thursday morning.
While exiting his house on SE Manth Lane, Daniel Brewington said he noticed two people rummaging through his car.
When they began to flee, Brewington, 31, decided he wasn't just going to let them get away with his belongings, police said.
After a foot chase, Brewington was able to catch up with the suspects and recover the radio they had just stolen from his car, according to a police report. The suspects left the area on foot after giving up the radio.
Police were later called to the scene around 2 a.m. and began searching for the suspects. Officers, with the help of a St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office K-9, set up a perimeter and started a K-9 track looking for the suspects.
The K-9 track led officers to the rear of 1950 SE Carvalho Street. Inside the house police located the two suspects, a 17-year-old and Zachary Francis Janiszewski, 18.
Brewington positively identified the two teens, according to the report.
Janiszewski was charged with burglary and theft and was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. The 17-year-old was charged with burglary and theft and transported to a Juvenile Detention Center.
