HALLANDALE BEACH, FL (WFLX) - We're learning new details from a crash scene some troopers are calling the "worst they've ever seen".
At least four people were killed after a police chase that began in Opa-Locka. The chase ended in a violent, wrong-way crash on I-95 near the Miami-Dade/Broward County lines Wednesday morning.
FHP says at about early Wednesday morning, the suspect, who was driving an SUV, entered the southbound lanes of I-95 -- the wrong way -- at Ives Dairy Road.
Police say that's where the suspect, 24-year-old Paolo LaFrance, possibly dumped a gun, but shortly after slammed into a vehicle killing at least four people.
The suspect is under police surveillance at a hospital with two broken legs.
The victims' names have yet to be released.
All lanes are now open at I-95 Southbound near Ives Dairy Road.
