Pilot killed when kit plane crashes in PSL

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - Investigators continue to search for clues into what caused a homemade plane to crash in Port St. Lucie.

It happened Sunday morning near the entrance to the Treasure Coast Air Park. The pilot, John Schoonover of Broward County, was killed on impact.

Sheriff's deputies say the aircraft was built from a kit, so they're looking into the possibility that something may have been wrong with the design.
