(WFLX) - A disgusting photo is making the rounds on social media.
It appears to show a Taco Bell employee licking a stack of taco shells while at work. Someone posted the photo to the fast food chain's official Facebook page.
The picture on the Taco Bell Facebook page had this caption along with it, "This sure says a lot about your employees, food treatment, and what they post on the internet."
As some people on social media have pointed out, these taco shells could have been headed for the trash can.
Fox 29 reached out to Taco Bell for a comment. Despite the fact that it has most likely been a busy day for the chain's PR department, a Taco Bell spokesperson was quick to respond to our request.
"Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and team members, and we have strict food handling procedures and zero tolerance for any violations. When we learned of the situation we immediately contacted this restaurant's leadership and although we believe it is a prank and the food was not served to customers, we are conducting a full scale investigation and will be taking swift action against those involved," said a Taco Bell spokesperson.
