ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Investigators are looking for the person who hit and killed Kathy Rigby Sunday evening in Royal Palm Beach.
It happened around 7 p.m. near the corner of Tangerine Boulevard and 120th Avenue North.
Rigby and her son ride their bikes on Tangerine Boulevard almost every night, Rigby's roommate said.
Sunday the tradition turned tragic after Rigby was hit and killed.
The driver sped off and is still on the loose. "She was a single mom. A loving mom," her sister Rose said. "Good friend, good sister. We're going to miss her."
Rose brought flowers to the crash site in her sister's memory.
Neighbors also brought out flowers and one even stood on the corner with a sign saying, "Who killed my neighbor?"
The woman is a bicyclist and just wants justice for the family.
"I just wish the person who did this would come forward because this is breaking our heart.," Rose said.
Investigators believe a white or tan, 2000 to 2006 Chevy Tahoe hit Rigby.
The truck now has damage to the passenger front grill and headlight assembly, according to authorities.
It also may have damage to the passenger hood area.
The grill will be missing one section of the aftermarket black metal grill inserts.
"Be a bigger man," Rose said. "Just step forward because this is hurting us all."
Rose said it is going to hurt her sister's son the most.
"They were extremely close and it's going to be a tough road ahead for him," Kathy's sister said.
In order to help him and the rest of the family heal, the family is asking for justice.
