WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX)-- A 26-year-old Florida man attempted to take a gun with him through security at Palm Beach International Airport on Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to TSA officials.
Transportation Security Administration officials say they spotted a Sig Sauer P 226 handgun and a magazine with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition in the passenger's carry-on bag.
Airport police were alerted and took possession of the bag.
The passenger traveling to Houston was arrested .
TSA would like to remind passengers firearms are prohibited in carry-on bags. Firearms can be transported in checked baggage, provided they are declared to the airline, in a proper carrying case and unloaded, according to the TSA.
