Father believes missing Pahokee woman is dead

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Police and family members spent most of Tuesday searching Pahokee for missing Deborah Jessie.

Jessie was last seen Sunday. "In my heart, I know, my daughter is dead," Deborah's father Larry Young said.

Young says his daughter would never not call family members. "That is impossible," he said.

Just blocks from Deborah's house, investigators found Crystal Anderson murdered late Monday night. Deborah's father says Crystal was like a mother to Deborah and sat for her children. "That is her godmother and her babysitter, and they are both gone on the same day. In my heart, I know, my daughter must be dead. If Ms. Christy is dead, I know she is dead," Young said.

According to court documents, Jessie was supposed to be in court Tuesday to file an injunction for protection against domestic violence against her ex-boyfriend Jammy Washington.

In the documents, Jessie wrote that she feared for her life and that Washington locks her in her home and beats her.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that they have questioned Washington.

Deborah's father says none of that matters to him right now, he just wants closure for his family. "I want to find my daughter. I know in my heart she is gone,"  Young said.

Investigators are not connecting the homicide and Deborah Jessie's disappearance.

Deputies and family members searched fields near the Pahokee neighborhood Tuesday, but a sheriff's office spokeswoman said there were no developments.
